A simple, refined and very gourmet recipe that pairs perfectly with your truffle sauces. Ideal for an elegant lunch or a high-end appetizer to share.
Ingredients (2 people)
- 4 slices of country bread
- 2 to 3 tablespoons of your truffle sauce
- 4 slices of Comté cheese
- 2 slices of cured ham
- 20g butter
- A few arugula leaves
- Black pepper
Gourmet option
- Caramelized onions
- Pan-fried mushrooms
- Grated Parmesan cheese
Preparation
1. Prepare the croques
Lightly butter the outside of the bread slices.
Inside:
- spread your truffle sauce,
- add the Comté cheese,
- the cured ham,
- then a few turns of black pepper.
Close the croques.
2. Brown them
In a hot pan or a croque-monsieur maker:
- cook for 3 to 4 minutes on each side,
- until you get a golden crust and melted cheese.
3. Serve immediately
Cut the croques in half, then add:
- a few arugula leaves,
- a drizzle of olive oil,
- possibly a light additional amount of truffle sauce on top.
